I I am a current sophomore at Virginia Tech studying Animal and Poultry Sciences, on the science path, companion animal emphasis, with a minor in Biodiversity Conservation. I have been able to gain valuable skills and experience in the vet-med field during my time working at an emergency animal hospital. I am on the executive board and am an involved member of Wildlife Disease Association at Virginia Tech.
WDA organizes and performs various wildlife handling, education, and conservation activities as well as working alongside wildlife professionals. I have benefitted from hands on experience both within the animal science field as well as the wildlife conservation field and hope to be able to merge both of these passions in a professional setting.
I have work experience as a Veterinary Assistant where I worked alongside veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide emergency, urgent care, and routine care to companion animals as well as working with the client to provide the best care. I am a current intern at CityWildlife where I work to care for and rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife within the Washington, DC area.
I am currently an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech where I am earning a Bachelors of Science. I am an Animal and Poultry Sciences Major with a Wildlife Conservation Minor and have experience working in both of these fields. I am also involved in research opportunities on campus working alongside graduate and PHD students.
