Hi! My name is Grace Brashears and I am currently finishing up my undergraduate degree at Syracuse University in Human Development and Family Science and Public Health! Following my graduation from Syracuse in May, I will be moving to Boston to pursue my Masters in Child life and Family Centered Care at Boston University.
I am a dedicated and passionate student at Syracuse University, pursuing dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Development & Family Science and Public Health. I will soon be pursuing my masters at Boston University starting in August. My professional experiences have allowed me to immerse myself in child advocacy, healthcare, and community service.
As a Child Life Specialist Practicum Student at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, I applied child life principles to support pediatric patients and their families. I also interned at the Children’s Advocacy Center, where I assisted in forensic interviews for pediatric survivors of sexual violence. Additionally, as a SOURCE Funded Research Assistant, I collaborated on projects aimed at creating accessible research ethics training for individuals with developmental disabilities.
My leadership experiences include serving as the Executive Director of OttoTHON Dance Marathon, where I have led large-scale fundraising initiatives for Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. Through these roles, I have developed a strong commitment to child welfare, healthcare advocacy, and community engagement.
I am currently completing my bachelors of Science from Syracuse University in both Human Development & Family Science and Public Health. Following my graduation in May, I will be moving to Boston to pursue my masters of Science in Child Life and Family Centered Care from Boston University.
