Comprehensive ORM for Deno and PostgreSQL
● Overhauled legacy codebase to modernize technical stack and improve maintainability and iteration-friendliness, transitioning from Preact/Fresh to React/oak.
● Implemented React to leverage Deno’s latest update which introduced full compatibility with npm modules, enabling the development of a codebase that is more maintainable and better equipped for future development.
● Leveraged oak's middleware framework and Deno's secure and efficient runtime environment to design a backend application that was intuitively defined and organized, allowing better iteration.
● Integrated React Flow to create an interactive diagram that models entity-relationship connections within a SQL database, improving visualization and understanding of the data structure.
● Incorporated custom types using TypeScript in the codebase to improve maintainability, scalability, and debugging efficiency by catching errors before runtime, and providing more context and information about the codebase through type annotations and interfaces.
● Employed JWT tokens to verify user identities and grant access to protected routes and resources, ensuring that only authorized users can access sensitive information.
● Adapted a modern design aesthetic and allowed users to introspect database schemas, execute queries, and view the database's entity-relationship model by renovating the GUI built with webview.
