Growing up in Florida, I was a competitive swimmer until 2019 when I moved to Santa Barbara, CA. There, I pursued an education in Business Administration at Santa Barbara City College, where I earned two associate in science degrees in both Business Administration and Economics. I hope to put the rest of my education, from CSU Fullerton or Cal Poly Pomona, to use as a leader at any level.
I was inspired to learn about business in general by my mother, a great manager. She educated me on the injustices that would commonly occur as a result of some other managers’ poor leadership and incompetence in decision-making. Because of this, I’m driven to eliminate any of those issues as soon as they arise, still promoting a positive environment where everyone feels safe to learn and grow as an employee and as a person.
Having worked exclusively in customer service, I strongly value the close connections I've made, and the trust I’ve built, with my coworkers. Customer service can be tiring, but having coworkers you can trust makes each day worth it. That said, I strongly value teamwork and team-building.
After I quit competitive swimming, I decided to teach kids, roughly aged 4-14, water safety and competitive swimming technique. This was a lot of responsibility and lessons took place in a high traffic environment, so workdays tended to be tense, but I always made sure that both the child and the parent(s) was happy with the lesson I provided.
As a stock associate at Bed Bath & Beyond, I was trained to be handle a variety of situations like cashiering, inventorying, reorganizing the sales floor, etc., all while maintaining a safe working environment. Again, even when most workdays would be tense, the customer I was helping would always end up satisfied.
Through my Business Administration degree program at Santa Barbara City College, I took courses in financial and managerial accounting. Additionally, an Intro to Business course taught me the inner workings of a company, including distribution, forms of management, etc.
I was able to obtain two Associate in Science degrees at this school in both Business Administration and Economics.
