Henry Zuccarello is an award-winning composer, arranger, and trombonist hailing from Boston, Massachusetts.
In 2023, Zuccarello’s transcription and engraving services were enlisted by the Celebrity Series of Boston for their Jazz Along the Charles festival. In the spring of 2024, Zuccarello arranged J. J. Johnson’s “Kelo” and “Boneology” for performances by renowned trombonists Steve Davis and Andre Hayward with the Oberlin Jazz Ensemble and Oberlin Jazz Trombone Choir, in celebration of Johnson’s centennial.
In the fall of 2024, Zuccarello was selected to become a member of the prestigious Oberlin Sonny Rollins Jazz Ensemble and performed with the group at Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center in January 2025.
Henry now studies at Oberlin Conservatory under the tutelage of Jay Ashby, Gerald Cannon, and Dr. Eddie Henderson, pursuing a double major in jazz composition and jazz trombone performance. During his time at Oberlin, he has had the opportunity to work and perform with many jazz luminaries such as Gerald Cannon, Dan Wall, Billy Hart, Gary Bartz, and Justin Robinson. Outside of his formal education, he has also studied privately under composers John Wallace and Bob Pilkington.
