Hubert Chen

Hello! I am Hubert Chen. I am a third year student at Northeastern University pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer engineering.

Although my major is Electrical and Computer engineering, my passion lies in robotics. In order to facilitate this passion, I have a wide range of electrical, software, and mechanical skills.

Throughout all my activities and projects, I've demonstrated my ability to work effectively in collaboration with others as a leader or team member, as well as my ability to work independently.

At Northeastern University, I'm a co-founder of the Unicycle Club, and a project lead in the Northeasten Electric Racing team. In my free time, I enjoy working on personal projects and exploring engineering to the best of my ability.

Mechatronics Engineer co-op at Berkshire Grey, Bedford MA (Jan 2023 - June 2023)

• Developed controls, UI, and data logging for automated robot testing using Python
• Automated workflow for robot enclosure safety validation using Python and ROS
• Designed and upgraded robot safety enclosures, performed wire harnessing and installation
• Designed bent and welded sheet metal component for production units
• ABB robot operation, RAPID code, and path planning
• Automated workflow for SKU data acquisition
• Wrote Python hardware driver classes for sensor testing and selection

Intern at Talos Robotics, Alameda CA (July 2021 - Sept 2021, July 2022 - Sept 2022)

• Used CAD and SLA 3D printing to design and iterate a robot arm end effector
• Performed mechanical reliability tests on end effectors
• Created Mujoco py simulation assets for end effectors for collision detection

Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University. Currently a 3rd year.
