Data Quality Analyst - DC Health: Immunization Division - Washington, DC

Responsible for monitoring and performing programmatic duties to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and completion of vaccine data via Health Level Seven International (HL7) messaging entering the District of Columbia's Immunization Information System (DOCIIS). This effort involved leading immunization reporting training for Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Bridge program providers, partnering with internal and external stakeholders, and leading vaccine events for the immunization division to increase vaccine coverage rates within the District of Columbia.

• Regularly performed data quality assessments for providers that are a part of VFC and/or Bridge programs.
• Conducted site visits for providers that have difficulty reporting data elements required by the VFC and Bridge program.
• Collaborated with electronic health record (EHR) vendors and IT to ensure that healthcare providers have the appropriate code sets (e.g. CVX, MVX, facility ID, etc.) to submit a complete HL7 message.
• Documented and developed provider user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), communication documentation as well as internal and external guides for the data quality team.
• Cultivated partnerships with healthcare providers, community-based organizations, schools, and other external and internal stakeholders to conduct vaccine and outreach events for schools, communities, and other organizations.

Responsible for conducting research and collecting qualitative and quantitative data for the National Library of Medicine (NLM) on minority-serving institutions (MSIs) and identifying ways to increase resources for students completing biomedical and public health courses. • Evaluating raw data to assess MSIs syllabi, course accessibility, and program requirements.
