Maintenance Engineer - Syensqo - Havre De Grace

Sole engineer responsible for the maintenance and reliability of Syensqo's Havre De Grace plant. Role involves ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all assets by developing preventative maintenance plans, inspections, and conducting complex troubleshooting of downed assets. Identify possible future maintenance issues so that the maintenance team can be proactive instead of reactive.

• Planned and executed the installation of a critical piece of equipment (Beta Gauge) after the failure of its predecessor within a 3-week timeline allowing production to resume in time to make $1 million dollar order.
• Designed and installed posi-flate valves on several pieces of equipment to increase the plant vacuum systems efficiency.
• Identified a reliability issue with the process heating systems and developed a plan to properly clean and filter the heat transfer fluid, increasing its efficiency and prevent deposits from clogging heating passages on the process end.

Production Engineer - Syensqo

Responsible for 2 major areas (Tif line and secondary operations) and 7 different machines. Corrected deficiencies and addressed quality concerns to ensure the product met and exceeded standards. Additionally, analyzed data and developed projects to boost efficiency, cost effectiveness, and the minimization of production issues.

• Identified issue with rotary cutter, replaced damaged components, and adjusted machine blade to make a clean cut, returning it to operation before the material expired, which reduced scrap caused by the defect by nearly 80%.
• Designed 4 mechanical devices to correct safety issues and combat defects caused by machines and raw materials.
• Analyzed data to identify issues with machines and modernized one major asset of the site that is responsible for over $1 million monthly revenue.

Light Armored Reconnaissance Officer - U.S. Marine Corps, 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion

(2020-10 - 2024-09)

Served as second-in-command for battalion and company-level operations, leading training, deployment coordination, and operational readiness for units up to 700 personnel. Planned and executed large-scale training events, including service-level and live-fire exercises, and coordinated multinational joint training with U.S. and foreign partners. Managed comprehensive readiness reporting across training, vehicles, medical, and physical fitness.

Built and executed annual training plans, ensured safety and regulatory compliance, and led operations in austere and high-risk environments. Mentored and developed officers and noncommissioned officers, strengthening leadership capacity and operational effectiveness.

• Developed and supervised the execution of 9 different battalion training events, which included 2 service-level training exercises as well as multiple live-fire training events.
• Collaborated with the state department, the Navy, and the French consulate to coordinate the travel of Marines to Tahiti in order to conduct joint training with partner forces. Planned the safety structure and training regimen for a two-week joint exercise to train the French, Japanese, and 8 other militaries on Marine Infantry tactics.
• Successfully served as the Responsible Officer for the accountability, maintenance, and reporting for Company B's $85M account comprised of vehicles, weapon systems, optics, tools, and other assets without a single piece of gear reported as missing and with the result of 90% readiness across the account.

Capstone Design Project - University of Mississippi Engineering Department

(2019-01 - 2020-05)

Designed a device for Borg Warner to test samples of parts that were received from suppliers. This device applied constant pressure on each swab regardless of what part was being tested, thus allowing for accurate and consistent testing for parts that were contaminated.

• Designed a weighted cylinder that would hold the swab and place a constant pressure of 5 Newtons on the part being tested.
• Designed an adjustable seat that would hold the part so that swab would always be along the same axis without contacting the wood of the swab on the part.
• Designed a piston-like system that could move the cylinder (and swab) in a linear motion by hand with design intentions that could also accommodate the addition of an electronic motor in the future.

Engineering Clutch Design Project - University of Mississippi Engineering Department

(2019-01 - 2020-05)

Designed a clutch disc for a custom-built dune buggy using specs that were measured from an engine dyno, and conducted research on different materials that are commonly used in both stock and performance clutch discs.

• Determined constraints to be the following: maximum outside diameter of 206mm, must fit a 24 spline - 20.6mm shaft, capable of holding at minimum 180 horsepower and 238ft-lbs of torque.
• Designed a 200mm clutch made of feramic material to be paired with a 2200lbs pressure plate.
• Through testing, identified and solved a major flaw with the clutch design. It was capable of transferring the power from the engine to the transmission, but the material used created drivability issues due to lack slippage between the clutch and the flywheel.
