Jacob Mroczek

I'm a media generalist with more than eight years of professional experience in videography, photography, and marketing—spanning the full creative process from ideation to publishing. Most recently, I served as Brand & Creative Specialist at Cornell University, producing media that elevated the university's brand through stories of students, alumni, and campus life. I've worn many hats, pointed many cameras, and written countless captions, all with a smile on my face because this is the work I love to do.

I'm eager to build meaningful, community-centered creative work in Iowa City.

BRAND & CREATIVE SPECIALIST, STUDENT & CAMPUS LIFE at Cornell University (2022-04 – Present)

• Managed from end-to-end high-impact video projects featured across Cornell's websites, newsletters, and social media channels—advancing engagement and philanthropy goals under tight deadlines.
• Collaborated with university partners and leadership to plan projects which translated institutional priorities into visually compelling narratives aligned with Cornell's brand standards and community values, including annual Giving Day fundraiser.
• Designed and implemented SCL's digital-asset-management workflow through scalable media management systems, increasing production efficiency and retrieval speed.
• Hired, trained, and supervised 6 student employees; designed training modules, implemented structured 1:1 mentorship along with project management and equipment logistics processes that fostered creative growth and operational reliability.

STUDIO MANAGER, SR VIDEOGRAPHER & PHOTOGRAPHER at Jon Reis Photography (2019-08 – 2024-04)

• Managed over 100 projects for numerous clients including video productions, large staff portrait sessions with 10 crew members managed, and myriad photography projects (portrait, wedding/event, architecture, product).
• Promoted from Videographer/Photographer Assistant to Studio Manager, assuming client and operations oversight that expanded the studio's reach and streamlined workflows to maximize efficiency, established protocols for client communication and delivery, and oversaw inventory and equipment maintenance.

MEDIA GENERALIST at Quantum Leap Productions (2018-01 – 2022-12)

• Diverse roles in documentary and commercial video productions in studio and on location including camera operator and audio recordist, grip and electric; managed social media pages; planned and carried out extensive strategic social media ad campaigns.

VIDEOGRAPHER, DESIGNER at The Ithaca Voice (2017-04 – 2019-04)

• Created weekly videos covering community events, managed digital archive, coordinated interns, designed content for web and social media; animated ads for web; grew YouTube and Meta accounts and audiences tenfold.
