I grew up an atheist… until I met someone who had real faith. In the heart of San Diego back in 2000, at the age of 25, I became a believer.
The man who led me to the Lord was a former US Navy diver who had worked for the bomb squad (EOD) and had also been a masseur at a world famous spa in SoCal. This man had so much peace and joy. It came from spending lots of time in the Spirit and in the Word.
He was a prophet. He had an anointing. And it was contagious. We didn’t go to church at first. And he never tried to preach at me to make me convert to Christianity. From time to time in the course of hanging out and in our conversations he simply showed me things in the Bible and explained them in a way that reached me.
By hearing truth from a friend I came to have faith in God.
After washing out of Navy SEAL training (class 234) I served as a parachute rigger and military police in the US Navy for 8 years. I lived and worked in Europe and the Middle East. Years later I traveled to South Florida where I studied the Bible under a prophet and the very same man of God who had led me to the Lord. There I was birthed into ministry and served in a Christian ministry for 15 years. This man of God who had such an impact on my life has since gone home to be with the Lord.
In ’21 while working in Kuwait as a private security contractor for a company called Triple Canopy I met the woman of my dreams and prayers—a lovely and amazing Filipina who was working as a nanny for an Arab family in country. We are now happily married and live in the Philippines.
Remote work is preferable for me but I am willing to relocate stateside for the right kind of employment.
I served in ministry for 15 years, speaking at a weekly “believers meeting” to about a dozen brothers and sisters. This was under the leadership of Greg Mullins, the head of Full Grown Ministry. We were based out of Boca Raton, Florida.
We were not a traditional church. We looked more like the disciples in the book of Acts meeting in their homes to worship God and hear the Word. Weekly, I would also meet with believers for one-on-one fellowships.
These meetings would go two hours. In them we would praise the Lord together, then review spiritual principles that are in line with the Bible, Biblical truths that have practical applications to our daily lives. Then we would read a chapter out of one of the anointed books in our library.
Finally, we would read a few chapters from the Bible, something from the Old Testament and something from the New. Always we would pray at the beginning and end of our meetings. Over time getting in the Spirit and getting in the Word changed our lives.
Ordination is in power, not on paper. To be in ministry one needs the anointing. The anointing comes from the Holy Spirit. This is what Jesus taught his disciples. After three-and-a-half years of discipleship they still needed to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. This is why Jesus had instructed them to remain in Jerusalem until they received “Power from on High.” Then they were to go into all the world…
My spiritual education comes from studying the Bible under a prophet for fifteen years, learning how to praise the Lord out loud, reading the Bible daily, attending weekly meetings, daily reading and listening to anointed teachings that line up with the truth contained in God’s Word, putting Christ’s teachings into practice in my daily life, and being accountable to a mature believer who was ahead of me in his Christian walk and ministry.
