A passionate educator who has been actively working in this field for a decade, I am excited to help learners reach their goals while working within an organization and team where I can be both challenged and fulfilled using the communication and organizational skills I have developed through years of educational and speaking experience. After completing my master’s program, I am ready for new challenges in creating thoughtful content that furthers the objectives of both the organization and individual learners.
I have worked as an instructor and pastor at Family of Faith from July 2013 to the present. Within the ministry, there is a church, a K12 school, and a university; and I have been involved throughout these years with all three. I must employ strategic planning, coordinate staff, and provide leadership to volunteers as part of the pastoral team.
Strong administration skills are needed as I coordinate schedules and lead rehearsals, regularly speak/deliver sermons, and help with any number of projects. Problem solving and research are key to find organizational solutions for needs that arise, developing and training volunteers, or other areas. Teamwork and team building are invaluable.
In the school, I have taught both music and grammar classes to students ranging from seventh through twelfth grade. In the previous year, I have moved toward a blended model to incorporate online learning into instruction and assignments along with traditional in-person learning. I have been responsible to develop the curriculum for music as well.
As a college instructor, I have taught in-person and online courses (most recently fall 2022). I developed the course, evaluated resources, moderated discussions, and assessed learners in their LMS.
I also started a business in 2010, Spark2Flame Design and Services. I have provided website design and maintenance to a variety of clients from small businesses to non-profits. Recently, I've also taken on instructional design freelance work as well. I am required to be employ creativity, stay focused, and follow timelines as well as maintain financial records for the business.
I received a Master of Science from Full Sail University in Instructional Design & Technology. This was an accelerated program that I began in the summer of 2021 and finished in the fall of 2022. My Bachelor of Arts is from Family of Faith Christian University where I studied Secondary English Education and minored in Music Education. I attended from 1997-2001.
