I have a bachelor's degree and a doctor degree in medicine in the 70s and 80s and have been in the biomedical field for the past few decades. I witnessed the rapid growth of biomedical research and impressive advances of medicine and patient care. In effect, I saw the explosion of biochemistry, the birth of molecular biology, and the development of recombinant cloning technology.
I saw how molecular biology enabled biotechnology, the cloning of the insulin gene, mass production of pure insulin for the first time in the human history, the common use of insulin in diabetic patients, and its current effort for timed release administration. I saw how molecular biology and biochemistry helped advance our understanding of metabolism, physiology, and behavior. Throughout the past four decades, I have been a professor and lecturer and has built a broad and strong knowledge base, which not only distinguishes myself from my peers but also prepares me well in teaching various topics and subject areas.
