• Organized Anesthesia and Pharmacy committee to address controlled substance issues
• Developed evidence-based hand off protocol assisting Anesthesiologists and Operating Room Nursing staff in giving detailed reports to ICU attending and Nursing Staff, shown to decrease morbidity and mortality
• Wrote IV/EPIDURAL PCEA Policy update for starting the Thoracic Surgery Program
• Updated Moderate Sedation Policy to current standard of care for Moderate Sedation monitoring based on evidence
• Helped revamp entire Anesthesia Patient Encounter system, increasing total encounters by 700-800%, leading VISN in number of encounters
• Revised Standard for Anterior Mediastinal Surgery to align with current Evidence-based standards of care
• Received 100 category 1 CME Credits for teaching D.O. Students on basic Anesthesia and Airway management
• Wrote new Policy on cardiac Patient workup for Non-Cardiac Surgery with Evidence-based guidelines aligned with ACC/AHA standards
• Trained Nurse Practitioner to perform preop Medical Workups on High Risk Patients, decreasing Post Op Surgical Mortality rates by greater than 80%
• Working with O.R. Nursing Department to provide consultation service for Pre-Op phone calls made to patients prior to procedures
