I just finished getting my Master of Social Work from the University of North Texas and Texas Women's University JMSW accredited program. I have had experience working with children as a preschool teacher, helping at-risk youth through Communities in Schools, and providing crisis intervention at the Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas. I have been certified in providing trauma-informed care.
I have a heart for working with children and my passion is to make the world a better place for them.
I have worked as a cashier at McAllister's Deli, for 4 months, in the summer of 2018. I gained experience talking to customers and communicating with a team. I have worked as a barista at Starbucks, for 1 year, with a small break because of COVID-19.
This is where I learned to work quickly and proficiently. I have worked as a records office employee for White Settlement ISD for 8 months, in the summers of 2019 and 2020. At this job I was able to organize, alphabetize, and sort through files and records for the district's administration.
I also worked as a preschool teacher at First Baptist Denton's Child Development Center for almost 2 years. I learned how to effectively communicate with children through their different emotions and at the appropriate developmental levels. I also worked as an AmeriCorps Intern at Communities in Schools for 5 months in an after school program.
Here I worked with at-risk students and helped them with school work, managing their emotions, and learning appropriate behavior. I worked as a family advocate intern for 10 months at the Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas. I gained experience talking with clients who have experience trauma, managing a caseload, gathering appropriate resources, and making referrals.
I completed my Bachelor's degree in Social Work in the Fall of 2021. After graduation, I got licensed as an LBSW. I finished my Master's degree in Social Work in the Spring of 2023. I have passed the LMSW exam and am wait for the license application to be finalized.
