As the service writer I was responsible for the communication between the customers and our mechanics. As soon as the customer brings the machine to the service dept, I would write the work order up & hand off to mechanics. As soon as they serviced or fixed or found the problem with the machine, writing it down on the work order, I would contact customer and let them know their options.
