Hi I'm Joanna (Jojo) I'm from New York City and a recent graduate of Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. I specialize in the general humanities area-- especially English, philosophy and anything writing related! My methodology is based on acquisition of learning in a natural and spontaneous way through the use of dynamic and innovative methods, multimedia media and teaching materials that are diverse and appropriate to the age of the students.
I worked as a Teacher's Aid at Phoebe Anna Thorne School in Bryn Mawr, PA. In this role, I facilitated play-based learning for preschool-aged children, fostering their problem-solving and social skills while creating a safe and creative environment.
I also served as a Teaching Fellow at Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia. I received specialized training from an instructional teaching coach and led a classroom, teaching 6th grade writing. I designed and co-taught an elective focused on artistic expression and fabric painting. Additionally, I took on leadership roles, planning events, facilitating assemblies, and collaborating closely with colleagues.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with minors in Studio Arts and English from Bryn Mawr College, where I achieved a GPA of 3.52. I also participated in a College Year in Athens program in the spring of 2022, immersing myself in Greek language, culture, history, and philosophy.
