I am one who believes in working smarter, not harder, while still providing a high level of service. Service equals expectations plus one which means that doing just a little more than what is expected makes a world of difference to guests, clientele, and colleagues. I have the ability to accomplish anything by putting my mind to it.

Learning has always been very important to me. I have some unique talents and interests. I am a musician who has dedicated time into learning an instrument, which is very much like learning a second language.

Event Operations Manager

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Assists with the overall management, planning and policy development for university events; plans, organizes, reservations, special events and related programs.
• Oversees and manages recruiting, training, scheduling and management of student event staff; coordinating the efforts to include preparing meeting rooms and supporting all spaces that are programmed including the setting up of tables, chairs, audio visual and technology needs and other equipment as needed
• Executes individually, collectively and or schedules student staff to implement all approved EMS reservation requests.
• Establishes and maintains successful and effective relationships with campus and community and serves as an event manager and works collaboratively on special events (i.e. Commencements, Convocation, Cultural Affairs, etc.) as required.
• Collaborates and coordinates with appropriate departments and provides technical expertise and recommendations in the evaluation, purchase, upgrades, and maintenance of AV and technology and other event equipment.
• Interprets and explains university policies and procedures to both internal and external constituents.
• Assists in drafting, reviewing and evaluating event management policies and procedures; conducts research and prepares reports relating to the same.
• Assists in the expanding the development and department utilization of the EMS event reservation system.
• Provides daily operational supervision and assists the director with management of staff.
• Assists and works with external vendors including researching and obtaining quotes for goods and services necessary to support events per university policies and guidelines.
