A seasoned academic and research scientist with 18+ years of expertise in experimental condensed matter physics and computational techniques. Proficient in Material Studio, Python, Machine Learning, LabVIEW, VASP, and CASTEP, with strong skills in physics laboratory techniques such as XRD, Raman, FTIR, UV-Vis and Fluorescence spectroscopy, SEM, AFM, TEM, DSC and TGA. Dedicated to mentoring future scientists, advancing impactful research, and driving scientific discovery through innovative methodologies.
I am a physicist with over a decade of academic and research experience, specializing in condensed matter physics, material characterization, and computational modeling. I earned my Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Freiburg, Germany, where my research focused on the molecular ordering and characterization of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), a key material in organic electronics. I have held faculty and research positions at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology and Pwani University, contributing to both teaching and advanced research in material science and thermodynamics. Currently, I serve as an adjunct assistant professor at the Pan African University Institute of Water and Energy Sciences (PAUWES), where I mentor and teach graduate students while continuing research in theoretical and computational physics. My academic journey has been complemented by strong numerical modeling, data analysis, and programming skills, which I apply to investigate complex material systems and light-matter interactions.
I hold a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Freiburg, Germany, where my research focused on the molecular ordering and characterization of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), a semiconducting polymer widely studied for its optoelectronic properties. I also earned both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Education in Physics and Mathematics, providing a strong theoretical and analytical foundation in physics, computational modeling, and material science. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity at Grand Canyon University, expanding my technical skill set to include data security, systems analysis, and cyber-physical risk management, a complement to my scientific training and problem-solving expertise.
