- Determine priority of message/calls, assessing patient concern, medication side effects, assessing patient mental health and/or medical concerns, medication refills, prior authorization, messaging provider(s) for further advisements/orders, executing and communicating provider's order to patient/family members in timely manner
- Triage suicidal individuals on phone or in office, contacting appropriate emergency services in timely manner and provide appropriate documents to emergency services
- Determine if requested medication(s) meet appropriate protocols for medication refills
- Document all phone call messages and conversations from patients and/or family members in timely manner by using appropriate documentation system
- Complete Prior Authorization and/or Appeals to insurance company by providing appropriate patient documentation/records and helping patients/caregivers with FMLA paperwork
- Facilitate patient education in Intensive outpatient group therapy program, providing individual patient education on medications, providing community resources, perform Genesight Testing, advising patient, communicating to patients when/how complete provider orders for labs: drug testing and medication monitoring
- Communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary healthcare members in different health specialties regarding patient care as appropriately
- Provide a compassionate care for patient and caregivers
- Work autonomously while simultaneously working as team member with other members of the care team
- Maintain patient privacy and safety per HIPAA, IL-OSHA/OSHA laws and hospital policies
Inpatient Behavioral Health RN - Secondary Position - OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center - Ottawa, IL

Float to inpatient behavioral based on unit needs i.e. short staff, extra shift coverage, emergent needs.
- Provide quality nursing care by: assessing, monitoring, planning and organizing patient care, maintain complete and accurate documentation in timely manner
- Facilitate medical orders by provider and care team member i.e. medications, behavioral and medical assessments, administrating medical emergency interventions and emergency medications, lab and specimen collections
- Communicate/collaborate with the patient and care team (provider, case management team, nurses, therapist)
- Complete new patient admission and assist with patient discharge planning: proper referrals for follow up care and identify resource of needs
