Joyce Chen

Joyce Chen is a freelance illustrator based in Southern California who graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2020 with a BFA in Illustration.

After 5 years of designing high end fine jewelry in a fast-paced industry, Joyce is currently taking it slow and indulging in the colorful digital world- capturing storytelling, emotional depth, and visual effects in a single image. She draws inspiration from action packed moments in both the real world and animation/games, transforming that energy into striking illustrations.

Aside from working digitally, Joyce also enjoys creating with different mediums ranging from oil painting, printmaking, to animation. She specializes in observational studies especially of the human figure.
