Philadelphia Native interested in policy work

As Director of Youth Programming at The Equity Project, I oversaw the creation and implementation of a trauma informed workforce development program focused around connecting the Black and Latinx youth of Kensington with the cultivation of gardens to foster professional skills. In preparing the program curriculum I conducted extensive research on topics related to systemic barriers to accessing health care, education, and employment as well as present reports on my findings to the board. Additionally, I drafted and edited all internal policies related to the program such as data entry procedure and quality benchmarks to ensure completion of system deliverables to guarantee funding requirements.

I also managed the program’s calendar to track both daily and long term operational goals. Furthermore, I trained all staff and youth, focusing on detail oriented maintenance and best professional practices.
