Julia Strauss

I am looking for a job in childcare. I am a 24 year old recent college graduate from Tulane University. I am very patient and compassionate with children. I consider myself both a responsible and vigilant worker. Nothing makes me happier than getting to spend time with children, and helping them learn and grow. I am communicative and good at working with a team of staff.

I play piano and violin and I participated in both my high school and university orchestras. I also love reading and drawing. I prioritize movement and spending time outside in nature which is something I love to do with children when possible.

I have had many jobs in childcare across many different age groups, from infant to middle school age. After years of being a summer camp counselor as a teenager, my first full time nanny job was the summer of 2020. Throughout my time at Tulane from 2021-2024 I worked for multiple families.

I was a live-in nanny for a young boy for short periods of time for two years. I was a daily part-time nanny for an infant. I was a regular babysitter for multiple families. I also did tutoring. From 2022 to 2024 I worked at the New Orleans JCC as the head counselor for a summer camp class of twenty+ 4 year olds, which is very similar to their pre-school program.

I also did a program through Tulane where I taught violin to young children. I have been trained in CPR and water safety.

I completed a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts at Tulane University, as well as a semester at the New Zealand school of Music.
