A Graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies, I am seeking to enter the Affordable Housing Industry, searching for roles in Project Management, Finance, or Asset Management.
Highly motivated and mission-driven, I have acted on my dedicated interest in the Housing field by seeking out niche and advanced opportunities. Graduate-level coursework at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs introduced me to the Affordable Housing Finance system. Through coursework and participation in the Novogradac Building Opportunities program, I have developed an applied understanding of finance programs and methods, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Tax Increment Financing, and Private Activity Bonds.
Leadership and project management experience in the NAIOP University Challenge saw me apply my academic knowledge in a simulated real estate development setting. The commercial real estate development competition provided me with experience underwriting Affordable and Market-Rate Housing Development projects. In lead of underwriting my team's proposal, we ultimately secured 2nd place in the 2024 competition against teams from several other universities.
My education in finance and project management was undertaken through the lens of the need to correct for historic and ongoing inequities in the United States' built form and housing system. As disparities in equity and access continue to widen, I am eager to continue expanding my knowledge of the Affordable Housing system while applying my current knowledge and experience in a housing development or asset management role.
