My name is Julie, and I currently have 10+ years in the field of education. My most recent experience is providing early intervention special education services to young children and families. I am a licensed teacher; licensed in the areas of early childhood education, special education, and elementary education. I possess a bachelor’s degree in education (early childhood and elementary education - through grade 6) and a master’s degree in special education (autism spectrum disorders).
Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a licensed Cosmetologist, and I worked as a hairdresser, specializing in color theory for 10 years. I enjoy a variety of hobbies, including birding (or bird watching), drawing realistic images of wildlife and nature, crocheting, and wood burning. I am also a mother to middle schoolers, and we have a dog and 2 cats. As a family we enjoy fun trips and experiences, and the great outdoors (hiking, climbing, etc.).
In addition to teaching, hairdressing, and my hobbies, I am currently running a Tutoring business. I market the business in our local community and online via networking. I also ran my own hairdressing business, while I was still active in the business.
