College student going for my Bachelor's in Communications & Software Engineer. I do odd jobs like moving furniture, drywall repair, tile & plumbing light work. Nothing too serious. Avid photographer, singer/songwriter, musician and I'm good with children and animals.
I'm trying to fund my artwork and music and make portfolios of my work. I tend to forget to do before and after pics to have anything for a portfolio. I'm a good cook and love to eat. Bit of a foodie, bit of a comic book nerd, and love to read.
My dream job would be to write screenplays and horror novels, like Stephen King and Anne Rice. I totally missed the boat on the Marvel Comic Universe adaptations to the Big screen. Trying to not miss out on the rest of my life!
I started doing odd jobs such as yardwork when I was about 14. Mowing, weed-eating, edging and then branching out into projects like digging ditches, installing drains, pathways for gardens and swings. I tend to use organic and biodegradable products for killing weeds like vinegar and garlic and natural deterrents to pests like citrusy plants and flowers.
I flipped houses for a while with my uncle, and we did jobs for brokers like Jennifer Fox Realtors in Dallas, TX. So I know a few things about installing tile, appliances, cabinets, and frames. I can do some electrical and plumbing, nothing too big; and I also can put together furniture and appliances, and I am also a very good mover.
I've been told my work has been better than some professional movers and installers. I don't half ass anything, and I am very much a stickler for the rules. I love to make customers happy, and I love to collaborate creatively with my customers, as well.
I learn these skills and trades on the job, mostly. That is where I found pretty much my all experience, I believe. I took carpentry and electrical at Job Corps, although I did not finish the trades there. I immediately went to work with family. So I learned most of what I know from my uncle Chris Day and Jennifer Fox in Texas.
