Event Staff at Hampton Roads Soccer Complex (2024-09 – 2024-12)
- Weekends Shift: During the weekend is when the Complex hosts either regular games or tournaments. During the shift I either was managing the parking lot making sure there was no traffic. Trash duty going around looking in the trash cans emptying them if they are full or not. I also sorted out other issues that happened with either the fields or scheduling.
- Weekday shifts: On a shift Monday- Friday It was a closing shift for teams who practice on the fields. Arriving at the complex is getting everything opened and ready for bathrooms, field, and equipment. At the end of the night is closing and cleaning the bathroom, closing the office and shed with the vehicles and setting the alarms.
Event Operation Intern/ Remote Job Intern at Virginia Beach City FC (2024-05 – 2024-07)
- Gameday Operations: During the home games upon arrival we start off by getting all the equipment we need from the back. We had a few different areas to set up with being the kid zone, front entrance, parking lot, and press box. Front entrance is where we set up tickets and merchandise. Kid zone is where the kids can go play before and during halftime. Parking lot was set up putting up signs to let everyone in the area know we are having a game and know where to park. End of game clean up we start off by cleaning up the entrance and parking lot 15 minutes before the game ends but leave out the merchandise for last minute buys. Once everyone had left the stadium it was cleaning up the kids zone and locking everything back up in the back.
- Gameday Entertainment: Kid zone was one of the big entertainments during the game letting parents know that this is a kid friendly environment and can enjoy the game while the kids are entertained. I was always at the kid zone during the 1st half making sure rules were followed. During halftime I did halftime games for fans to come down and compete against one another for either merchandise or a gift card from donations from small companies for a little shoutout.
- Stadium Operations: Setting up signs around the stadiums leading fans where they need to go. Putting up flags up on the bleachers and taking down.
- Ticketing: Assisted with ticket scanning
- Merchandise: Helped with in-stadium shopping
- Networking: Built and maintained relationships with fans, coaches, referees, and players
- Remote work: I wasn't in the area during this time. I was offered to be remote but was expected to be present on game days. Task of being remote was organization during assignments, planning for game days, and daily tasks.
Coach/Camp Counselor at Sport Center of Richmond (2023-05 – 2024-08)
- Coach setup: As one of the coaches I know what classes I'm coaching and it is getting equipment and dividers out on the field. I was responsible for getting my own field set up while helping other coaches set up the big fields. I set up a birthday party and ran them. On the weekday we had camp so I have been a camp counselor/coach as well.
- Coaching: My main job at SCOR was coaching soccer teaching the little kids ages 24 months - 5 years old the fundamentals of soccer and having fun. Ages 6-8 years old I teach them more of the foundation and technical level of soccer. 9-12 years old already know everything about soccer so it's mainly skill moves.
Cashier/Furniture Salesman/Stocker at Big Lots (2020-11 – 2025-01)
- Cashier: Working as a cashier gives me experience doing one on one customer experience. Learning that many problems can happen with a customer from wrong price, coupon not working, credit card problems, and looking for a specific item.
- Furniture: Working as a furniture salesman gives the experience to make deals and fits what is best for the customer. I always get asked "I'm on budget, what is the best deal for this piece" "I'm trying to color code my house what is the best piece for this color scheme". Putting out furniture and organizing on the floor to make it look presentable and approachable.
- Stocker/Truck: Unloading the truck and getting the stuff out on the floor gives me the experience of organization, stacking, and timing. The truck always had 2 -3 hours to unload and stack them on a pallet to make sure it won't fall when we have to move it.
