- Prepare the nursing department work schedule and find replacement for any call outs, vacation request, and to make sure to meet the state and federal requirements.

- Correctly calculate nursing hours to meet daily PPD requirements.
- Communicate with the Director of Nursing for any vacant shifts, open positions, and other issues that pertains to our employees.
- Prepare the staffing sheets for RN's and CNAs for day-to-day basis and work with the supervisor for any issues that will arise.
- Verifying daily punches for any errors and making sure it is corrected according to the shifts they work.
- Maintain records of attendance, tardiness and missed punches and communicate to HR to resolve issues.

- Identifies staffing needs of each unit according to the census and follow the staffing matrix to staff the floors appropriately.
- Plan, organize and implement sustainable staffing strategy.
- Work with recruiting agencies when needed to find coverage for the short staff.
- Communicate with the directors/clinical leader to ensure that the schedule is accurate for each shift.
- Communicate and confirm schedules, including any changes, with staff and call offs.
- Maintain timely records of call-out, late and early arrivals to work and coordinate with the directors.
- Accurately enter changes and updates into the system.
- Maintain an accurate daily staffing worksheet, making sure all changes is done and documented in the system.
- Works with all the charge nurses in each unit for accurate staffing with the correct census.
- Able to think fast to solve staffing problems when problem arise at the last minute.
- Performs all executive secretarial functions to ensure the operating efficiency of the Department of Nursing.
- Handles/resolves all staff issues and scheduling changes
- Bed control/bed management for ER admissions
- Make sure all admissions will be assign to the right unit where it was ordered by the doctor.
- Communicate with ER charge nurses in order to assign beds accordingly.
- Answer the office phone during business hours, and direct them to the right person
