Kaya Wells

I have about 2 years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting. It is a field I really enjoy and plan on having a long career in this industry. I enjoy site visit’s and compiling data for reports. I so an excellent job at making spreadsheets for the data collected and analyzing the results. I also have experience with budgeting for construction projects for environmental protection practices.

I currently work as a Division Stormwater Compliance Specialist for DR Horton. This position requires that I monitor corrective action items for our NPDES inspections on a daily basis. I also assist with creating and updating the Stormwater Pollution Protection Plans for each construction site.

My position also entails looking at construction plans which include the proposed plans for silt fence and turbidity curtain installation. I also compile out monthly data for reports and update our budging spreadsheets.

Before DR Horton I worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as an Environmental Specialist III in the Everglades restoration department.

I have a Masters in Marine Science from Nova Southeastern University which I completed in 2023. I have a bachelors in Marine Biology and Environmental Studies from Florida Southern College which I completed in 2021.

I am a Certified Wetland Evaluator and have my FDEP Stormwater compliance inspector certification.

I recently finished the OSHA 10 Hour course in April 2025.
