Owner's Representative/Construction Manager - Housing Authority of the City of Key West - Key West, FL

Hired as owner's representative after completion of the Garden View project, ownership offered me a position to manage and monitor the new construction of 32 one and two bedroom Workforce Housing Units scattered along the lower keys. After a year of federal and state delays, construction began. Once started it was understood these homes were to be rented by the Key West Housing Authority and provide the much-needed residences for the working class within the Lower Keys.
Future works to include a complete demolition and reallocation of a current property to provide even more living spaces for the aged structures currently inhabited by some residents of Key West. Other projects under my watch are ongoing structural and civil work requiring budget, plans, specifications, and schedules. All these to be monitored and maintained and finally presented to the executive director during a weekly update meeting.
Construction Manager - Gulf-Keystar LLC - Stock Island, FL
Hired as construction manager for Gulf-Keystar LLC, Garden View Apartments – Stock Island FL is a multi-structure campus construction consisting of 103 one-bedroom and one office unit for workforce housing units. These units are to be rented by the Key West Housing Authority, the largest single land rental agency in the Keys. Three residential structures spaced around a 2.66-acre site to allow maximum circulation and use of space.
These three structures are denoted as "Building A", "Building B", and "Building C". Building A has five units, a single story, Building B, sixty-six units of three stories, and Building C having thirty-three units, also a three-story structure. There are 125 hardscape parking spaces provided between and under the buildings providing an open-air car parking around the new road.
Landscaped to provide that home feeling of living in the Keys.
Construction Manager - Robert Finvarb Companies - South Florida
Hired as construction manager for Robert Finvarb Companies, Transferred to South Florida to pursue construction growth opportunities on the developer side of construction. While with RFC, assisted in the necessary permits and other essential documents required to enable the development of multiple projects simultaneously. Project values ranging from $30-40mm.
As the developer, assisted with buyout coordination and schedule alignment of self-performed scopes for hotel construction. Both Marriott brand and developer selected architects were required for multiple coordination of internal FFE budgets; while matching strict Marriott brand requirements; both in interior décor as well as facade.
Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager - Oliver Knox Residential Tower - Dallas, TX
Hired as sr. project engineer for Oliver Knox Residential Tower, Oliver Knox, a single tower development located on a 1.5 acre parcel at between Lee and Oliver Streets, overlooking the 75 Freeway, downtown Dallas TX. Oliver/Knox has a combined total of 595,955 SF of space to the city center. This includes 310 apartments, 16 of which are the top two penthouse floors.
In addition to 600,000 SF of usable space, the residential tower features 81,000 SF of ground-floor executive lounge, fitness facility, collaborative workspaces, and outdoor amenity spaces.
Knox also includes a ½ acre dog park with separate entrances for residences and the immediate bordering neighbors. The tower boasts an expansive drive draped in a lighted porte cochere leading into the leasing conference space. Dallas-based GDA Inc. is the project architect. Raised to PM for performance excellence.
Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer - Parkland Memorial Hospital - Dallas, TX
Hired as project engineer for Parkland Memorial Hospital project, a $1.2 billion healthcare facility in Dallas, TX— currently the largest healthcare construction project in the nation with 1.9 million sq. ft. of construction on 38 acres. The facility encompasses 862 adult beds, 96 neonatal ICU beds, 108 ER rooms, 24 OR rooms, which will allow for a population of 30,000 people to traverse its doors daily. Reorganized and maintain documents for contract compliance.
Worked closely with designers, subcontractors, and project managers. Raised to Sr. project engineer for performance excellence.
Project Engineer - Cowboy Stadium - Arlington, TX
Served as project engineer for Cowboy Stadium project, a $1.2 billion NFL football Stadium in Arlington, TX. Coordinated team of 300 electrical and fire protection subcontractors involved in the construction and finish out of 3 Dallas Cowboy Stadium suite levels comprised of 250 suites, 4 sports clubs, 2 branded bars, 6 finishing kitchens, and 3,000 sq. ft. of office space. Trained and supervised Document Control staff. Conducted weekly staff meetings.
Quality Control Coordinator - Yacht Haven Grand - US Virgin Islands
Selected as quality control coordinator for Yacht Haven Grand project, a $200 million marina and mixed-use facility in the US Virgin Islands. Managed punch list for the entire project comprised of 15 retail spaces, 2 waterfront restaurants, a 12 luxury condominiums in work environment comprised of native trades people. Provided ad hoc leadership of field safety program for compliance with OSHA requirements.
Interim Project Engineer - Colcord Hotel - Oklahoma City, OK
Served as interim project engineer for Colcord Hotel project, a $42 million 110,540 sq. ft. luxury boutique hotel in Oklahoma City, OK. Charged with managing logistics of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) for 108 guest rooms, 1 five-star restaurant and 1 branded nightclub. Participated in Operational Planning reviews; reviewed design and construction schedules; maintained and updated product specification database; researched FF&E related products, passed information to the field, and attended meetings on various projects and topics.
Project Engineer - Sound Engineering Construction Phase - Bass School of Music - Oklahoma City, OK
Delegated to manage sound engineering construction phase for Bass School of Music project, a $40 million 113,000 sq. ft. teaching facility in Oklahoma City. Coordinated team of sheetrock installers, sound engineers, and electricians involved in the construction of sound engineered facilities comprised of 60 practice rooms, 38 teaching studios, 7 high-tech music labs, 6 ensemble rehearsal rooms, 1,200-seat auditorium, 488-seat recital hall, 260-seat theater, and an intimate chamber performance hall.
