In my previous experience as an Interim Assistant Director of Admissions, Directs the daily operations of the Admissions Office. Assists in policy planning and development on all undergraduate and graduate admissions-related matters. Plans and develops strategies for admission of undergraduate students.
Assumes responsibility for the successful attainment of the university’s recruitment, selection, and enrollment goals. Directs activities of a comprehensive undergraduate admissions office which includes supervising senior managers/professionals and consulting on and implementing the institutional policy for admission and articulation; reviews special admissions cases and requests for exceptions to policies. Oversees efforts to recruit and admit a socio-economically and racially diverse student body.
Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
As the former Coordinator for International Students, I provide F-1 international students with transferring in and out of the university. Maintaining up-to-date records in SEVIS regarding activing I-20’s for the current semester, submitting their Optical Practical Training (OPT’s) or Curriculum Practical Training (CPT’s) when time permits. As well as submit changes for data corrections fixes, regarding a student’s status or changing of programs.
Receiving SEVIS alerts and taken immediate action when time permits. As well as, updating, deleting, or saving changes for the Form I-17 for recertification. These are just of few of the many responsibilities of a PDSO, that I handle daily.
