I recently completed an IOS mobile development course offered by CodePath this past fall. The course featured 10 weeks of rigorous, project-focused training. I learned how to use APIs to develop apps such as a Twitter clone and how to develop a backend using parse.
This upcoming spring I will be taking an Android development course offered by CodePath to further my knowledge and improve my skills in mobile development. After I complete this course I will be knowledgeable in both the IOS and Android sides of mobile development.
I enjoy the creative freedom that mobile development offers. Currently I am working on developing an app that will allow students at UCSB to easily access and compare their academic schedules with their friends. It is a side project that I hope, once completed, will be useful to every student at my university.
Through my computer science classes, I have gained experience working in a team by doing stand up meetings, using agile methodologies, and utilizing git tools. In terms of mobile development, I am confident in my ability to use Swift, Xcode and swift UIkit. I see this internship as an amazing opportunity to utilize these skills that I have learned in the industry. Additionally, I am excited for the chance to hone my skills and learn new ones as I work alongside the professionals.
