After 21 years in high tech, I returned to CRM in 2024 as an Archaeological Tech, Crew Boss, and Field Director. I have 13 seasons of hands-on (mostly wilderness) CRM experience, in addition to people skills acquired during my career in corporate America.
I have skills typical of a seasoned archaeological tech (pedestrian survey, digging STPs and units, site monitoring, detail-orientation, interpersonal awareness, physical endurance, etc.). In addition, I have several other specialties:
Field Director, Crew Lead, Assistant Crew Lead, Trenchmaster
I have a B.A. in Classical Studies, field school, and four years of grad school in Classical Archaeology.
I’ve spent 13 field seasons in CRM:
--- Five seasons in the North Cascades of Washington state
--- Four seasons in Eastern Crete Greece (including field school)
--- Two seasons in the high plains/canyons of southeastern Colorado
--- One season in the Oregon Cascades plus lab work in Minnesota
--- One season as second author on source-to-artifact correlations
CONTENT, DATA, AND KNOWLEDGE In high tech, I worked progressively more responsible roles as Writer, Editor, Content Manager and Knowledge Manager. At the level of Principal Knowledge Manager, I advised executive leadership on federated search, content platforms, information security for extremely sensitive data, training programs, and internal communications. Now I’d like to bring these skills in structured content, data analysis, writing, and problem-solving to CRM.
