Kevin Grewal

My name is Kevin Grewal, I have a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science with Magna Cum Laude honors from San Jose State University. I am a passionate developer, a quick learner, and a strong collaborator with a diverse collection of technical and management skills. I have two recent work experiences as a Software Engineer Intern with IT companies using cutting edge state-of-the-art technologies.

My first internship was with a top Fin-Tech startup known as Hippo Insurance. At Hippo, I worked closely with stakeholders to redefine a core insurance rater from scratch using Python, TypeScript, Node.js, and Jest testing frameworks. The new core insurance rater design had greatly improved functionality, allowing customers to receive a quote within 60 seconds.

My most recent internship was with the leading Customer Experience Management Software company known as Qualtrics. At Qualtrics, I implemented and launched a new data pipeline for sensitive data inputs via a Qualtrics textbox which is used on 100% of surveys administered at Qualtrics’. This full-stack project utilized tools and technologies such as TypeScript, PHP, React.js, Node.js, Apache Kafka, AWS DynamoDB, and Docker.

Along with my technical skills, I have experience using management tools like Atlassian Confluence and Atlassian JIRA. Lastly, I have experience working with big data processing techniques and related tools, as well as training deep learning models/neural networks. Given my range of skills and aptitude to constantly grow, I believe I would be a great fit in any Software Engineer role.
