Software Engineer III (Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineering) at Nike (2017-08 – 2026-07)
Built and secured the software, automation and infrastructure connecting Nike's manufacturing, product creation and innovation teams with external factory partners.
- Secure partner file exchange: Architected encrypted exchange of machine and design files with external factory partners using PGP, YubiKey hardware key authentication, controlled network paths and Box automation; replaced legacy FTP with HTTPS and reverse-proxy patterns across roughly 15 factory sites, delivered through an Electron application that evolved into a broader partner workflow platform.
- Automation and integration services: Built Python, Node.js, and PowerShell services using REST APIs, webhooks and SDKs across Box, Slack, Airtable, ServiceNow, MES platforms and Databricks; delivered production data flows including AMFG to Airtable and Airtable to Databricks integrations, automated manufacturing reporting, secure file movement, retries and failure alerting.
- Manufacturing network architecture: Designed reusable segmentation patterns with DMZ, isolated machine and workstation zones, hardened protocol and egress controls; applied the model across multiple factory and product creation deployments.
- Factory equipment connectivity: Networked and secured robotic cells, additive manufacturing systems, digital cutters, scanners and knitting machines including vendor remote access and VPN integrations using eWon, Cisco and Allen-Bradley technologies.
- Cloud and platform modernization: Led server migration and legacy divestment cycles, moving production workloads to Azure and AWS and retiring end-of-support Windows Server platforms; re-platformed an internal application out of the DMZ behind Azure Application Gateway with SSO.
- Identity, PKI & application security: Migrated enterprise certificate lifecycle management from Venafi to Keyfactor and implemented certificate-based authentication, SSO integrations and least-privilege access patterns supporting secure applications, services and partner workflows.
- 3D scanning & cloud data pipeline: Secured an isolated 3D scanning workflow and helped build a watcher service that moved large scan files from a controlled server share into AWS S3 for a centralized 3D data and digital archive initiative.
- Observability and operations: Implemented Splunk, New Relic, SignalFX and Slack alerting for server health, service status and file transfer integrity, and built an internal dashboard for ticket management, remote command execution, transfer monitoring and software updates across distributed factory sites.
- AI & LLM engineering: Deployed a local RAG-based LLM assistant integrated with Slack for internal knowledge access; adopted Claude Code and local LLM environments for prototyping, documentation and centralizing operational knowledge.
