Kiki Stamatiou is a Kalamazoo-based writer and visual artist whose work spans fiction, poetry, narrative nonfiction, journalism, playwriting, and digital art. A graduate of Western Michigan University with a BA in Creative Writing, she also publishes under the pen name Joanna Maharis, with books including Dominica’s Inferno (2024), Behind The Eyes Of Paradise (2016), Peering Through A Streaked Window (2011), and Japlin And Japlin (2010), along with audiobook projects such as Thomas James: A Portrait of a Man (2026) and Dominica’s Inferno (2025). Her writing has appeared on Wattpad—where her work earned high rankings in multiple categories—as well as in Wink: Writers In The Know Magazine, Quail Bell Magazine, The Raven’s Perch Magazine, and the blog of J.M.
LaLonde. Her visual art has also been recognized, with a digital piece receiving a top rating from The Raven’s Perch Magazine. Honored with distinctions such as the 2016 Directors Award for song/lyric from Paramount Song, she continues to explore new creative forms with a blend of imagination, emotional depth, and artistic versatility.
