Kirsten Gerlach

Going way back, I graduated from Topeka West High School in May 1989. I graduated from Kansas State University in December 1992 with a degree in BS in Life Sciences. I received my BSN in December 1994 from Baker University School of Nursing.

I have been a licensed registered nurse since January 1995. My positions have always been in Manhattan, KS, where I have lived full time for 30 years. Although I have held numerous jobs, it has been due to what my family needed me to be doing at that time.

As a new graduate, I worked on the very small pediatric unit of Memorial Hospital where I floated to all of the units when our census was low. I worked concurrently at Pediatric Associates of Manhattan for many years. Next came family practice at Stonecreek Family Physicians.

When they decided to open the first Urgent Care clinic in the immediate area, there I went. There was school nursing in USD 383, The Manhaata Surgical Hospital, then I cared for my mother in law during her fight with Lewy Body Dementia. I almost came full circle and was basically asked to return to K+STAT Urgent Care where I stayed from April 2018 through October 2024 when they were purchased by a hospital in town.
