Experienced researcher with expertise in bone biology, osteoporosis management, and musculoskeletal regeneration. Currently a Researcher at University of Pennsylvania focusing on understanding the regeneration of the musculoskeletal system. Ph.D. in Life Sciences with specialized knowledge in molecular mechanisms regulating bone homeostasis, macrophage and osteoclast function, and inflammatory skeletal diseases.
Researcher - University of Pennsylvania - Philadelphia, PA, USA
(2026-03)
Research focuses on understanding the regeneration of the musculoskeletal system.
Postdoc - Thomas Jefferson University - Philadelphia, PA, USA
(2025-03 - 2026-03)
Research focusing on elucidating the molecular mechanisms that regulate ENPP1 derived soft tissue calcification.
Postdoc - Washington University - Saint Louis, USA
(2023-01 - 2025-03)
Research focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms that regulate macrophage and osteoclast function during physiological and pathological inflammatory skeletal diseases that lead to bone loss. Specifically studying the role of Interferon-stimulated gene 15 (ISG15) and ISGylation in regulating skeletal homeostasis. Gained technical skills and knowledge using various mouse genetic models and advanced molecular techniques to establish new molecular mechanisms regulating cell proliferation and differentiation.
Ph.D. (Life Sciences) - CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute - Lucknow, India
(2018 - 2022)
Research work under supervision of Professor Divya Singh, Endocrinology Division. Worked on the evaluation of combination/sequential therapy of bone anabolic parathyroid hormone with anti-IL17A mAb for the management of osteoporosis. Demonstrated that PTH withdrawal results in tremendous bone loss however its replacement with anti-IL-17 antibody reverses this effect and leads to overall increase in bone mineral density and restoration of lost bone microarchitecture.
Study advocates use of neutralizing IL-17 antibody as a replacement therapy post PTH withdrawal.
Project Research Fellow - CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute - Lucknow, India
(2014 - 2018)
