Highly skilled carpenter with over 20 years of woodworking experience in TV/Film and residential construction. Orchestrate crews of 5 - 20 carpenters to fabricate, install and strike construction components for 30-100 production locations while maintaining budgets and fast-paced shoot schedules. Perform site evaluations strategizing the logistical, financial and timing implications in order to achieve the Production Designer's artistic vision for each scene. Effectively communicate progress and potential issues to team leaders ensuring that all elements align with the desired creative vision on time and within budget.
Determining and reporting material take-offs, current inventory and budgets for all appointed sets. Interpreting blueprints in order to divide, draft, assign and manage different phases of construction. Consistently demonstrate expertise in woodworking tools and techniques by actively participating in the execution of all construction projects, as well as, through the training and coaching of crew members to efficiently perform tasks in unfamiliar fast-paced environments.
Built and installed numerous construction components including windows, doors, columns, cabinets, countertops, elevators, stair systems and complex crown moulding as needed for productions. Successfully implemented different set construction methods after learning tv/film industry terminology and organizational structure. Demonstrated high level of knowledge and experience in woodworking tools and techniques by safely constructing complex builds with precision and efficiency.
Residential New Construction & Custom Builds
Lead carpenter providing all finish trim needs for new construction homes including hanging doors; as well as, measuring, cutting and installing multi-piece casing, baseboard, chair rail, crown molding, handrails, wainscoting and mantles. Designed, drafted, built and finished custom interior and exterior woodworking projects for clientele including barrooms, patio furnishings, sliding barn doors, cabinetry and total room renovations. Provided renderings after collaborating with clients to determine specific function, aesthetics and architectural design elements for each custom build.
Demonstrated in-depth working knowledge of different carpentry tools, techniques and materials in order to provide timely and financially efficient turn-key services for clients and builders.
