I have been in pharmacy for >30 year, graduating from Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy followed by residency at Ohio State University in Nuclear Pharmacy. I have held numerous administrative positions within nuclear and hospital pharmacy settings. These positions range from Radiation Safety Officer to Regional Director.
I currently work for a large university hospital system in Richmond, Virginia where I have developed a USP797 & USP800 compliance program. This includes 10+ sterile suites & numerous segregated compounding areas in our hospitals & clinics. I have been working in compounded sterile quality assurance since 2004 in both nuclear & hospital pharmacy. My staff is made up of pharmacist, technicians & cleaning team trained specifically in USP797 regulations for ISO Class 5, 7, & 8 areas.
Studying nuclear physics, chemistry & nuclear pharmacy at Ohio State University has been most relevant to my career.
