With a department of three, I am responsible for the safety and wellbeing of over 800 employees housed in five different buildings, plus two satellite locations in Vegas and Chicago.
- Responsible for instituting a PPE program at all three locations.
- Took over the PPE program in 2018 and have successfully instituted change while lowering PPE costs.
- Changed a 30-year culture by implementing numerous safeguards for employees, such as machine guards, light curtains and various other engineered safety controls.
- With-in two years of taking over the safety program, our Workers Compensation claims have gone from $234k down to $50k annually. This is due to a constant safety presence, as well as introducing a positive incentive program.
- Re-vamped the SDS program throughout the facility by utilizing MSDS Online services.
- Brought the facility up to fire code and have maintained annual inspections.
- Implemented emergency evacuation procedures, including muster points. Held the companies first fire drill after 30 years of operation.
