Mom and School Volunteer - Self-Employed

Chose to leave career to be a full-time caregiver to two children, instilling in them a love of play and reading and helping others. Dove into school volunteering when they matriculated, doing everything from Spelling Test Mom (creating individual spelling lists to match each child's reading level) to running the largest Scholastic Book Fair in MI for seven years. Worked closely with the Scholastic corporate office to integrate LGBTQ books into the fair offerings, as well as to "de-gender" the book carts to remove the stigma of "pink carts for girl books" and "blue carts for boy books."
