I am a retired Police Officer for the City of Upper Arlington with over 25 years of experience. This experience includes holding positions as a detective, field training officer and departmental grievance chair. In addition to adhering to safe patrol practices, I have spent several years investigating various types, and degrees, of crimes and criminal activities.
I have also been trained in, and developed skills in, crime scene processing and evidence collection. Throughout my time at the department, I have had the opportunity to assist in training new police officers and preparing them for their careers in law enforcement. As my time as grievance chair, I supported officers in interpreting our union contract with the city and presented leadership with documentation of contract violations, when necessary, in order to insure adherence to the contract requirements.
These grievance chair responsibilities also extended to providing union representation to officers during internal affairs investigations and any potential disciplinary actions.
Prior to this career, I earned my degree in biology and continue to have a passion for the subject. I very much enjoy vertebrate and invertebrate zoology and have an interest in parasitology.
