Purple Martin Technician at Columbia University (2025-05 – 2025-05)
Assisted with the handling and processing of the songbird, Purple martin. This was a week-long blitz involving setting traps and releasing birds for an on-going population study, as well as conducting nest checks.

Assist with curation of museum specimens and data management that includes necropsies of birds and mammals, helminth identification, and long term preservation. Projects are 'Sandhill Crane helminths in New Mexico wintering grounds' and 'Survey of the Channel Island Fox helminths and conservation'.

Purpose: conservation and restoration of Bison to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
- Quarantine Bison (situated right outside the Park boundaries in Garnder, MT)
- Utilized a stick reader to gather information on tagged Bison
- Prepared serum and blood samples from Bison for state testing
- Collected data on calves (brought in for the calving season)
- Conducted herd surveys throughout the Park and logged them into a database
- Assisted with collaborative projects from University of Montana
- Completed field tests utilizing GIS equipment, LAI app, Canopeo app, soil grinder, motion sensor cameras
