Lanah Rhee Millan

I am Lanah Rhee Millan, 42, born and raised in the Philippines. presently residing at 5008 Los Nogales Drive, Carlsbad New Mexico, USA. I had been a teacher for 18 years. I was a teacher in the Philippines for 11 years, in Thailand for 3 years, and in the USA for 4 years.

I love to learn and be in a learning environment. Teaching has always been my passion. From the very first moment, I step into a classroom, I start to build trust with my students. I believe students should first trust their teacher in order to have a healthy learning atmosphere.

I have become aware that teaching is not really about teaching, it’s about learning. It doesn’t matter how excellent I think I am as a teacher if my students feel they do not learn anything. I had been a reading specialist in improving student's reading skills.

I love to hear kids reading and see them reading. I also love playing softball. I had been a softball coach in the Philippines and competed in different events. As a collaborative and student-centered teacher and hands-on classroom expertise, I am confident in my ability to become a valuable and passionate member of your academic team.
