Currently I'm a Doctoral Candidate and Teaching Fellow in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of North Texas. I will be conferred the doctorate in May 2025. I have a B.A. in Philosophy and Religious Studies from the University of the Incarnate Word and an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Texas-San Antonio. My expertise is mainly in medieval theology and philosophy as it comes out of the great medieval doctor, St. Bonaventure of Bagnoregio, and his relevance to environmental ethics and the philosophy of ecology. I have five years of post-secondary teaching experience. I've taught at the University of North Texas, University of the Incarnate Word, Our Lady of the Lake University, Northwest Vista College, and the University of Texas at San Antonio. I've taught many different courses, including "Introduction to Philosophy," "Introduction to Scholastic Philosophy," "Introduction to Ethics," "Theories of Reality and Knowledge," "Basic Philosophical Problems," "Ethics in Science," "World Religions," and "Philosophy of Art." I have published works on Asian and comparative philosophy, philosophy of animals, and philosophy and literature. I am also a certified philosophical counselor with the APPA.
Five years of post-secondary teaching experience and curriculum design experience with more than five years of general teaching and tutoring experience; one year of experience organizing academic forums and conferences as well as one year of experience as a faculty liaison with many years of service to the profession: as language editor for the journal, Phenomenological Reviews, as a three- time annual ethics bowl judge, community service partner, and more.
