Lauren is a Filipino-American researcher currently under the Virology and Vaccine Research Program (VVRP) of DOST-ITDI in the Philippines, where she utilizes immunoinformatics approaches to design vaccines and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) against pathogenic human and swine viruses.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines Diliman in July 2023, where she took up BS Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. For her undergraduate thesis, she evaluated the performance of various plant DNA barcodes on Philippine medicinal plants in the Functional Genomics Laboratory.
Her research interests mainly lie in biodiversity and conservation, and she wants to work towards making scientific discoveries that will benefit the global population.
