Hostess at Homegrown Tap & Dough (2023 – 2023)
Homegrown Tap & Dough is a chic, locally-owned pizzeria tucked away in the Wash Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. There, I worked my first job as a hostess and greatly enjoyed being the first face to greet customers as they entered the restaurant.
Barista; Cashier at Cafe Miriam at City Park (2023 – 2023)
Across the street from Denver's City Park sits the traditional French-Moroccan coffeehouse, Cafe Miriam, named after the owner's daughter.
I began working there as a cashier: walking customers through the menu, taking orders, serving pastries and running drinks to tables. After training on the espresso bar, I worked as a barista serving an array of traditional espresso based drinks, teas, and seasonal specials. The environment was quick paced during the rush and I quickly grew to love the hands-on nature of running the espresso bar.
Hostess; Server Assistant at Old Vines Naples at Mercato/Supper Club (2024 – 2024)
At Old Vines, I worked as both a hostess and server assistant at their casual fine dining, lunch to late night location in Mercato. On nights that I was hosting, my responsibilities included greeting customers, managing reservations, assigning tables to servers, and completing necessary side work. On other nights, I assisted servers: running food, bussing tables, and helping anywhere I could.
Additionally, I began hosting on Wednesdays at their intimate suppler club right on the edge of down town Naples where I greatly enjoyed being truly immersed in the fine dining scene.
Hostess at Surf Hut (2025 – 2026)
Before ultimately relocating to Washington D.C —where I currently live— I worked as a hostess at the beachfront restaurant, Surf Hut, in Destin, Florida. There I enjoyed working alongside a fun and witty team of servers and acquired new skills in the restaurant space. Had I more time in Florida, I would have trained to serve there!
