I began my career as a staff financial auditor at Deloitte. I later joined the IT Audit Team which was part of ERS (Enterprise Risk Services). I loved the work so much because I was able to get a holistic view of the business and learn the importance of both processes to financial accuracy and technology security.
Having a background in both finance and technology auditing made me a more knowledgeable auditor, since I could consider risks and their impacts for both areas, and offer robust solutions and ideas for efficiencies and process improvements.
Shortly thereafter, Sarbanes Oxley became a new compliance standard for the industry, and this brought me back to Deloitte. Other great career opportunities arose outside of consulting, and since then, I have worked in a variety of compliance centric roles in the technology, financial, and biotech sectors. Due to my diverse work experience, I was able to easily transition to product, project, and program manager roles as well.
I have always been quick to adapt and learn. Being able to work for different companies in different sectors enabled me to learn more and become an even more effective and accomplished audit professional.
My dream job is to be an Audit Leader or Project/Program Manager that has the ability to work cross functionally with several teams, so that my work can have a big, positive impact. I've saved many large scale software implementations when they were dangerously behind. I have the passion and dedication to fix any problems that arise in the SDLC cycle and SOX controls.
