- Supports and empowers active-duty military members and their families through case management and clinical social work services with the goal of maintaining readiness, holistic health, and deployability.
- Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding service member behavioral health; provides consultation to Commanders and executive team(s) regarding service member cases.
- Performs biopsychosocial/needs-based/risk/lethality assessments, screenings, and mental status exams related but not limited to domestic violence, child abuse, substance abuse, financial constraint, suicidality, homicidal ideations.
- Provides after-hours response for service members in crisis, to include to development of safety plans and referral to inpatient psychiatric facilities as needed
- Conducts individual therapeutic sessions using various evidence-based practices to address psychosocial stressors, mental health presentation, diagnosis, crisis, skills building, behavior modification or emotional regulation.
- Aids service members separating from the military in accessing healthcare, employment, benefits, counseling, therapy, and other forms of rehabilitative care through direct support and community-based referrals.
- Establishes community partnerships with the common goal of developing and improving available interventions and services for service members.
