Software Engineer - metronome

• Product developed under tech accelerator, OS Labs.
• Created a Chrome Extension that allows users to gain more insights on their React application performance by injecting a global hook into the desired application to test and, based on a proprietary algorithm, generate a visual representation of render times, re-renders and re-render triggers.
• Leveraged React modular architecture and state management that enhances flexibility and simplifies maintenance by breaking components into manageable units such as Login, Signup and Logout used for authentication.
• Incorporated multer library into Node.js to handle multipart/form-data which is used in the application to allow the user to upload files and leverages its APIs to process it on the backend before storing it in a database.
• Designed a backend with Node.js and Express.js to handle server-side logic such as: server setup, HTTP requests, middleware, routing, file upload, authentication and event handling.
• Implemented a PostgreSQL schema that handles diverse data types based on the application needs, offering adaptability and a scalable solution with effective data storage and management.
• Adopted a utility-first approach to design with TailwindCSS, emphasizing the use of predefined utility classes for styling elements, which simplified the styling process reducing the overall time spent styling.
• Utilized webpack to bundle JavaScript files for usage in the browser while at the same time, using the loader to preprocess files, overall contributing for a more efficient and maintainable application optimizing the asset bundle and providing useful development features.
